Yes. OpenSoul is designed with a local-first approach. When you import files, they are stored and processed locally on your device, and the system does not rely on cloud upload by default. Core features like intelligent organization and vibe search can also run offline. Any other AI-related processing only works within the files and scope you explicitly authorize.
Yes. OpenSoul software can be used independently on a computer, mainly for file management and organization. The hardware can also be used on its own as a storage device. However, using them together provides a more complete experience, combining intelligent software features with dedicated hardware storage and interaction capabilities.
You'll need at least an Apple Silicon (M-series) chip (such as M1/M2/M3 or newer) with 16GB or more of unified memory.Please note: Performance may vary depending on your file size, library volume, and the apps running at the same time. If you often work with large video projects, complex audio files, or heavy engineering tools, a higher-spec Mac is recommended.
MUZIM hardware supports both RAID 0 and RAID 1 configurations. If data protection is your priority, we recommend RAID 1, which mirrors your files across two drives and helps protect against data loss if one drive fails. Furthermore, to deliver more comprehensive protection, we plan to introduce a Cloud Backup feature of our software. Designed strictly for backup and recovery, this feature will not support remote file access, ensuring your privacy is fully protected from the ground up.
Credits are the standard unit used to measure Agent usage in OpenSoul. Consumption varies depending on the tools, models, and the complexity and level of detail involved. More advanced tasks and more detailed setups require more credits.
Yes. OpenSoul File Agent provides real-time updates on your remaining credits and lets you view your full usage history, so you can easily review past consumption and manage your credits more effectively.
No. Credits can be purchased on demand whenever you need them, while OpenSoul's core software features are free to use without a subscription.
If your credits run out while a task is already in progress, OpenSoul will try to complete the task that is currently running. But you will not be able to start new chats or execute new actions until you top up your credits. OpenSoul File Agent will notify you when more credits are required.
